The Department of General Studies is responsible for teaching general education courses to all university students. These courses are called the University Requirements courses, which all students must complete before graduating. The idea of these courses is to create a general intellectual background or platform for the students from different disciplines, allowing them access to other important realms of knowledge, besides their majors. These requirements are divided into two groups: Compulsory courses and Elective ones. These courses are part of each bachelor’s degree programme at university.
