ASU to host ‘Sustainable Buildings and Infrastructure’ Forum
Manama – Applied Science University: The President of Applied Science University, Professor Ghassan Fuad Aouad highlighted the importance of scientific conferences and forums for researchers and institutions of higher education, stressing that these conferences constitute an incubator for energy, research and new experiences and contribute to creating an environment conducive to publishing and scientific research. Additionally, he noted that these events contribute to the renaissance and development of educational institutions through exchange of experiences among researchers around the world.
Prof. Aouad explained that Applied Science University strives to become one of the leading private universities by supporting practical learning and research in Bahrain and the Gulf region, noting that the vision of the university’s management is to make it a crucible for a variety of cultures and ideas, where originality and modernity are uniquely mixed to reflect positively on the professional future of all who belong to the university.
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is the world’s largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. It accredits university degrees, educational courses, and training and is based in the United Kingdom. Applied Science University in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Building and Bahrain Society of Engineers will be hosting a forum named “Sustainable Buildings and Infrastructures”. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Ghassan is also the President of CIOB.
The upcoming forum aims to highlight the importance of green buildings and sustainability. The university pursues to instil the concept of preservation of the environment among its students, especially since the current campus is designed to be environmentally friendly. The forum will host a group of professors and professionals from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, to talk about the concept of green buildings and its importance in preserving the environment.
Prof. Aouad stated that this event serves a great opportunity to announce the recent CIOB fellowship of ASU’s founding President, Prof. Waheeb Alkhaja and to celebrate ASU’s 10th anniversary in the Kingdom.
