A lecture at the ASU about the general secretariat of grievances
The ASU received the secretary general of the grievances at the ministry of interior his Excellency Mr. Nawaf Mohamed Mawadeh and his excellency Mr. Osama Ahmed Asfoor, the deputy of the secretary general of the grievances. They were met by the executive chairman of the board of directors professor Waheeb Khaja and the president of the university professor Ghassan Awad. The guests delivered a lecture about the general secretariat of grievances regarding its functions, the date of its establishment, its role in carrying out the responsibilities on the level of human right respect, and the sovereignty of law at the Kingdom of Bahrain in addition to its authorities regarding the prisons commission and the prisoners. It usually visits the prisons and the juvenile rehabilitation centers.
The president of the university Professor Ghassan Awad said that this lecture comes within the message and the vision of the university that seems to deepen and promote the cooperation with the government establishments and the private ones at the Kingdom in order to strengthen the special concepts of the citizenship and the human rights of the students. He added that this lecture is a first step to promote the joint cooperation between the university and the general secretariat of the grievances, hoping that this cooperation will be fruitful for the university, its students and the employees in general.
On his turn the secretary general for the grievances explained that the establishment of the general secretariat came as a result of the instructions of the wise leadership in order to respect human rights and deepen justice, and goes in parallel with the recommendations of the facts finding committee.
