Applied Science University holds a scientific lecture on the sidelines of the “Conference of Dialogue of Civilizations and Cultures”
Manama – Applied Science University:
within the framework of a series of seminars and workshops held by the Organizing Committee of the “Dialogue of Civilizations and Cultures” Conference which will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa during the period from 5 to 7 May 2014, Applied Science University held a scientific lecture on the sidelines of the conference, which was presented by Prof. Muhammad Yahya Mahasna the Dean of Law College; the lecture addressed several topics that harmonize with the theme of the conference as human rights, democracy, co-existence and pluralism.
In this context, Dr. Waheeb Al-Khaja, the president of Applied Science University asserted that the University is always keen to participate in the activities and events which enhance the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the Arab and international levels, pointing out that the wise leadership of the country seeks to enhance and support the culture of human rights among the individuals in the community and to spread the justice and equality among all citizens; Dr. Al-Khaja stressed on the role of educational institutions in shaping the culture of humanity.
In his turn, Al-Mahasna tackled the role of law in regulating the relationship between individuals, pointing out that while drafting and amending laws, we should take into account the regulation of relations and improving the relations between the followers of civilizations in a way that insures and promotes convergence and humanitarian cooperation besides enhances the human rights; he asserted the need to move away from racism while drafting the laws and regulations in order to achieve balanced human relations.
In conclusion, the President of the University thanked the organizers of the conference and praised the important role of the conference to spread the true image of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the role of the Kingdom locally, regionally and internationally in the process of dialogue among civilizations as a good example of coexistence and human rights.
