SCHOOL VISITS
The Directorate of Marketing and Public Affairs have started their annual programme of school visits as part of the Directorate’s strategy of raising awareness of the University’s programmes. Three Government Schools were visited by the Directorate team (Mr Abdulhameed Baqi, Marketing Acting Office Manager & Students Recruitment and Mr Baha Karaimeh, Public Relation Office Manager), who have so far met with over 1,460 students to promote the University’s programmes including the new hosted engineering programmes from London South Bank University (LSBU) and business and accounting programmes from Cardiff Metropolitan University (CMU). During the visits they spoke to students about study plans, relevant career paths, admission procedures, fees and payment, scholarships for students with 90+ GPA, and facilities and services for students at ASU.
A great deal of feedback was given during the school visits. The general reaction was very satisfying, as the majority of school students expressed interest in all our colleges. For instance, at Nasser Vocational Training Center, students from the electronic and mechanical fields were very interested in College of Engineering programmes from London South Bank University (including the future ones: Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical & Design Engineering) and also enquired about law. In addition, students from both Sitra Girls Secondary School and Al Hedaya Boys Secondary School were interested in various fields including science, commerce and literature and programmes in all four of our Colleges (Administrative Sciences, Engineering, Law and Arts & Sciences).
Furthermore, 35 additional government school visits are scheduled and arranged by the Ministry of Education for the team to visit, along with 4 more private school visits arranged by the Directorate.
