Applied Science University holds the 3rd, Career Day Expo
Manama – Applied Science University:
Under the patronage of Dr. Waheeb Ahmed Al-Khaja, President of ASU, Applied Science University held the events of third career day in the current campus at East Al-Eker area, with the participation of companies and business owners from both public and private sectors. This Expo aims at enhancing communication between the students and labor market, through providing job and training opportunities for them, keeping the labor market acquainted with the academic education outputs as well as level of scientific and professional competence of graduates.
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Khaja asserted that the career day was a successful step towards achieving further convergence between students’ aspirations and the requirements of companies and organizations in the labor market, calling upon the students to capitalize on the career day events described as an “opportunity to closely be acquainted with the current status and requirements of professions. Dr. Al-Khaja emphasized that the career day derives its importance from being a day that provides an opportunity to identify the types of professional sectors which befit the students’ specializations, acquire experience and skills in the field of curriculum vitae presentation, and successfully pass the business interview.
Dr. Al-Khaja pointed out that the deep keenness of universities to participate in the career day bears witness to the success of partnerships established by ASU with both public and private sectors, the considerable belief of those sectors in the outputs of PSU which provided the labor market with a large number of qualified graduates, the majority of whom are hailed by large-scale praise and trust in their career positions. In addition, Dr. Al-Khaja awarded shields to the representatives of participating companies.
On his part, NihadAljuboori, Dean of ASU Student Affairs, asserted that the participation of professional sectors plays an important role in diversifying the career and professional opportunities before the university students in the future. He added that ASU is seeking attract the largest possible number of companies through maximizing the interest given to career day and developing it, wishing that the expo has achieved the required benefit for both students and participating companies from the public and private sectors.
Mr. Mohammed Al-Najar, Head of ASU Career Development and Graduate Affairs Department, said that the organization of expo came out as required, extending heartfelt thanks to all companies that participated in the expo for transferring their practical experience and bringing points of view of graduates and labor market closer to each other, pointing out that these companies contributed to the success and enrichment of the expo.
