In a joint effort of strengthen the mutual ties between the Applies Science University and its partners from the Universities in the UK. A delegation from ASU visited the London South Bank University (LSBU). The delegation included the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Waheeb Alkhaja, the President of the University Prof. Ghassan Aouad, Director of the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Abdullah Alkhaja, The Director of the Office of International Cooperation for London South Bank University Mr. Mr. Yasser Abuseneh, where the University offers hosting programs in Architectural Design Engineering, Civil and Construction Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications and Networks Engineering, Mechanical and Design Engineering.

The two parties also discussed about the University preparations to start the course of the hosted programmes in the College of Engineering, and ensure all the necessary arrangements of university facilities, laboratories, library and other services. They also agreed to develop a combined plan to stay on track with the progress of new programmes and enhance the collaboration in the field of scientific research for both Civil and Construction Engineering and Architectural Design Engineering.

They also stressed the importance of scientific visits between students and their professors in which will strengthen the relations and train them during the summer, in addition to exchange of scientific experiences, books, journals engage them in the seminars and related scientific conferences.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Waheeb Alkhaja, mentioned that the University believes in the significance of partnership and extend collaboration with various prestigious educational institutions. Stating that the cooperation goal with the LSBU is to raise the University academic standards. Moreover, this will contribute in the forming of proactive university environment based on creativity with the adoption of the national and international standards for the education quality in line with the requirements of the Higher Education Council.

Furthermore, the University President Prof. Ghassan Aouad expressed his pleasure in vising University’s partners in the UK, pointing out that this visit is an extension of the signed agreement and the development of distinguished relations between the both universities. He also pointed out that the University has formed an office in Technopark at the London South Bank University in order keep in line with all the cooperation requirements, and extending the relation scope with research and engineering institutions in London and Universities, where it reflects positively on educational outputs and to contribution on the graduation of well specialized students.

It is also of great importance to mention that (LSBU) is highly recognized in the UK by the General Secretaries of Higher Education Council in which it’s categorized in the silver ranking palette, which confirms the quality of the academic programs offered by the university and its compatibility with the strategy of the (HEC) in Bahrain.
