Among the activities of the Society Services Centre, Dr. Mohamed Ala’a Hussain Al Hamami delivered a lecture titled “The Role of Social Media in Charity and Volunteer Work” at Abdulla Nass Hall. In his lecture, Dr. Al Hamami discussed the effect of social media on the life of individuals, societies and charity organizations, the best methods to be adopted, and the importance of social networks for establishments and individuals. He added that according to the statistics of the Global Social Media Club, there are more than 125 billion people who use Facebook around the world, out of which 517 thousand are Bahrainis and 53 million are Arab users. There are half a billion people on Twitter, out of which 250 thousand are Bahrainis and 15 million are Arab users.
