On 24 and 25 April 2016, Dr Assem Al-Hajj, the Acting President of the University and senior management group of Applied Science University received a Russian Business delegation from St Petersburg headed by Andrey Maksimov, Committee on Science and Higher Education, Government of St. Petersburg.

During the meeting, both parties explored potential opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions and showed interest in cooperation, in providing exchange of students and professors, summer programmes, and expansion.

The meeting was followed by a site visit and exchange of trophies. The Delegates were impressed by the state-of-the art building and praised the mutual understanding. In the evening, ASU delegation was invited to accompany the Russian delegation to dinner which was organised by the Capital Government.
