On Thursday 19 February 2015, the ASU received  Prof. Sultan Abu Orabi, the secretary general of the Arab Universities Union. He was met by  Prof. Waheeb Khaja, the executive director of  the board of directors of the university, prof. Ghassan Awad, the president of the university and Dr. Hilal Bayati, the vice president of the university for academic affairs and quality. He was also met  by the dean of the scientific research and a number of the deans of the universities and academic staff. Abu Orabi walked about the campus of the university and saw the facilities and services available at the university.
