Applied Science University Students’ Council Elections
Manama – Applied Science University:
Applied Science University organized the elections of students’ council which aims at spreading the spirit of democracy between the students and encouraging them to participate in the university activities. Twenty-two candidates were running for the elections in the university’s seventh students’ council; ten male students and five female students won with the participation of a large number of students.
The winners are Faisal Ahmad, Muhammad Thawadi , Nasser Al-Hajri, and Faisal Al Dosari from the Faculty of Law, also Talal al-Dakhil , Ali Saeed, Joayria Abdul Latif Ahmad Najdi , Abdullah Khalidi, Salman Mohammed , Noor Al Ansari , and Khalifa Al Ameri from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, meanwhile the winners of Arts and Sciences Faculty are Ghanem AL-Ghanem , Aisha Al – Qattan , Zaid Ahel and Abdul Rahman Abu Ras .
On this occasion, the President of Applied Science University Dr. Waheeb Al-khaja congratulated the new Students’ council members for gaining the confidence of their colleagues; he also called the newly-elected students’ council for working hard to serve their homeland and their university, pointing out that the University administration will be always ready to hear, communicate and interact with the students at any time.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Khaja pledged full support for the newly-elected students’ council in order to serve the students and the educational process; he also thanked the previous students’ council members for their efforts to serve the university and their vital role in organizing various events in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs.
On the other hand, the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Nihad al-Jubouri revealed that the electoral turnout was high, pointing out that all facilities at the university faculties witnessed an enthusiastic and honest competition between the candidates. Dr. al-Jubouri assured that the election was held in accordance with the provisions and procedures which were prepared by the university and the Deanship of Student Affairs. Furthermore, he said that the Deanship of Student Affairs created all the conditions for the success of the electoral process in addition to the financial support for election campaigns.
For his part, Mr. Yousef Al-Jabri, the Director of Student Affairs Office and the responsible for the electoral process explained that the election went smoothly amid democratic atmosphere in accordance to the Student Council regulations, pointing out that the strategy adopted by the Deanship of Student Affairs and its support for candidates would enhance the role of the Council to be an effective and vital representative for the students.
